Drought leads to poor pasture growth

During July 2018 there were worryingly low rain levels in the Dornogovi province of Mongolia. This leads to the poor growth of pasture that is needed by livestock to gain weight and strength to endure the cold winter months. Photograph by SIBELIUs project partner Batbuyan Batjav from the Centre for Nomadic Pastoralism Studies, who was conducting fieldwork in this region which is located in the Gobi desert in the southeast of the country.
