Listening to the herding community

A key component of the SIBELIUs project is engagement with herding communities and local officials responsible for coordination of livestock issues. Throughout the summer of 2018 SIBELIUs partners Caroline Upton from the University of Leicester and Batbuyan Batjav from the Centre for Nomadic Pastoralism Studies have been discussing with herders and Mongolian regional officers what environmental and meteorological information is required for herding communities to be better prepared for severe weather conditions.

In the photograph, taken by Batbuyan Batjav a small goat keeps guard while the herding family is out at work.
